Ernesto’s Story
Ernesto was 3 years old when he was diagnosed with leukemia. When our world was turned upside down in a second, PCFLV was there to help. PCFLV was there throughout the 20 months that Ernesto was going through treatment. We had to change hospitals throughout treatment, and PCFLV was always there to support. They sent us gift cards for the cafeterias at both St Christopher’s Hospital for Children and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. If it wasn’t for their help, it would have been even more of a struggle. PCFLV isn’t just there for the children who have cancer but also for the siblings of our fearless warriors. Ernesto’s brothers were always included in everything, from tickets to Disney, family fun days, to Camp Smile. And I could keep going. Jason remembers when we got to go to the office and pick out toys, and the Grinch was there. These are memories that can’t be replaced.
Unfortunately, our story doesn’t have a happy ending. Our sweet boy passed away at just 5 years old in February of 2020. We miss him every day. PCFLV still hasn’t forgot about his family and help us through every day that we have to keep going without him. This foundation IS our family, and we can’t thank them enough!
