Bryce's Story
Bryce is at a very exciting point in his journey battling B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, as he just finished his last chemotherapy treatment! For our photo shoot for 30 Days, 30 Stories®, we wanted to celebrate the day of his last spinal tap and chemotherapy infusion at Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital.
Over the last 2 + years, Bryce has gone through nearly 20 spinal tap procedures under sedation, as well as countless chemo infusions. On spinal tap days, he would wake up after the procedure quite sick but still powered through with a smile on his face and consistent joy – for that I am forever thankful and admire him for being such a strong and brave warrior.
There are so many challenging days, but I am beyond grateful for his medical care team, support of family & friends, and PCFLV to get us through. PCFLV not only supports these pediatric warriors, but their parents and siblings right along with them. Bryce and his older brother, Chase, attended Camp Smile this year for the first time and had the BEST week filled with fun, and most importantly, other campers and counselors that have dealt with the challenges of childhood cancer. Additionally, Bryce and Chase recently started attending music/art therapy groups with other PCFLV families to find fun ways to work through the emotional trauma that comes along with being in treatment/having a brother in treatment.
PCFLV helps so many families in so many ways emotionally and financially - they really provide the best community for families in one of the worst situations. Thank you, PCFLV, for your continuous kindness, generosity, and love!
