In March, we received the kind of news no parent could ever imagine. Brynlee hadn’t been feeling well for a few weeks, and although we thought it was just a lingering cold, we decided to have her checked out. Nothing could have prepared us for the word we heard that day: Leukemia. Both my husband’s family and mine have experienced cancer before, but never did we think it would touch our little girl.

 

The first weeks were overwhelming. Brynlee changed so much and endured so much pain from the side effects of treatment. Those first couple of months were a blur as we tried to comfort her while still caring for our two other children. With countless hospital stays and clinic visits, we slowly began to find our rhythm—thanks to the love, support, and prayers of those around us.

 

Though our lives have been forever changed, the outpouring of kindness from family, friends, and even strangers has been incredible. Today, we’re almost 200 days into Brynlee’s leukemia journey. Her remission came later than expected, but God is faithful, and her amazing team of doctors continues to fight alongside her. We are grateful to be in a stable phase of treatment now, living each day with joy, and finding ways to celebrate the little moments.

 

PCFLV has been such a blessing throughout this journey. From providing help with gas and groceries to giving all of our girls special goodies in the hospital, their support has meant the world to us. We are beyond grateful for the kindness and encouragement they have given us during this difficult time!
