Making Room for Fun, Friendship, and Family Time

The best of friends are often found in the most unlikely of places…and PCFLV is definitely one of those unlikely places! The pediatric cancer journey can be isolating – and our mission is to make sure our families NEVER feel alone. Through fun in-house family events, group outings to local sports and entertainment venues, caregiver retreats, and regularly-scheduled activities for moms, dads, grandparents, and kids, we help our local pediatric cancer families build invaluable connections and true friendships with people who understand the journey. Community replaces solitude…and joy finds its place amidst the worry and fear.

Creating Moments of Joy Along the Way

While PCFLV’s mission revolves around supporting the WHOLE family throughout their journey, our kiddos are truly at the heart of our mission. Our programs designed to bring smiles to their faces and joy into their lives through social interaction and connection are worth showcasing!

Chemo Circus

Every other week, PCFLV brings a wagon full of toys, games, stuffed animals and plenty of smiles to children receiving treatment at Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital. With pizza, game time, and lots of hugs, Chemo Circus helps make an often-scary day feel a little lighter.

Camp Smile

Camp Smile is a free, week-long summer day camp where children impacted by cancer can make memories, build friendships and feel supported. From swimming and sports to arts, theater and special guests, each day is filled with fun and connection with others who simply “get it”. With nearly one counselor for every camper, every child gets the individual attention and care that makes Camp Smile so special.

Kids Konnect

Each month, PCFLV brings cancer warriors and their siblings together for fun, friendship and a much-needed break from cancer. From seasonal crafts and games to field trips and special activities, Kids Konnect gives children an ongoing chance to connect with others who understand what they’re going through and enjoy just being a kid.

More Ways We Bring Families Together

Smiling, supported kiddos are just one piece of the PCFLV puzzle. All of our signature social programs bring moments of fun, joy, and connection to our local pediatric cancer families.

Caregiver Coffee

We bring coffee and snacks to the Pediatric Oncology Clinic at Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital to offer parents a little comfort and meaningful conversation while their child receives treatment.

Teen Events

Monthly events and outings give our teenage cancer warriors and their siblings a chance to have fun and escape the everyday reality of cancer for a few hours. Our annual overnight Teen Retreat offers even more time for fun, reflection, and being around others who understand.

Parent Events

From crafting and karaoke to line dancing, dinners, and our beloved fall cancer moms’ retreat, these gatherings give cancer moms and dads a chance to take a break, laugh, and enjoy some time with other parents facing similar journeys.

Family Events

Throughout the year, family-centered events give our cancer kids, siblings, and parents plenty of opportunities to have fun, make memories, and enjoy time together. Our Back-To-School Bash and Holiday Party are two of everyone’s favorites.

Sports & Entertainment Events

We provide tickets to local sporting events and family-friendly shows, giving cancer families the chance to enjoy a night out together without the added expense.

"We are forever grateful to PCFLV for not only bringing us together with other families who are able to connect on the same level, but giving our family the opportunity to enjoy special events together. One activity in particular would be going to Monster Jam! Jameson and his older brother were able to bond over this exciting experience.
Thank you PCFLV!"

Carissa, Cancer Mom

"I have always liked going to all the activities PCFLV has for families, especially Camp Smile because I wanted to meet more kids like me - and it’s super fun. Meeting other kids at Camp Smile that have been through similar stuff has really helped me feel more brave. My favorite parts of Camp Smile are all of the art projects and dodgeball. The counselors are awesome, and I want to be one when I get older."

Colin, Cancer Warrior

"PCFLV isn't just there for our family financially they really care about our whole family's well being. The smile from a simple gift of a toy is priceless to a child suffering cancer and their siblings. It's a moment of being seen."

Stefanie, Cancer Mom
